ENVECON 118 / IAS 118
Elisabeth Sadoulet
University of California at Berkeley
Fall 2008
Introductory Applied Econometrics
Midterm Grading Rubric
Each question (or subquestion) was worth 5 points as noted on the exam.
Below you find which pieces of
each answer earned you specific points toward the 5.
Most of these are independent pieces that you can
sum, although a few tell you total points assigned to a representative answer (3B and 4B).
Note that if you
wrote the correct answer (8.28% decrease, for example) but also wrote a another (wrong) answer (0.828%
decrease) just to be safe, we could not give you credit for the correct one.
Question 1:
2 points for standard error
3 points for CI
Question 2:
1 point for hypotheses
1 point for standard error
1 point for critical value (minus 1/2 if used twotailed critical value)
1 point for t stat
1 point for interpretation
Note: 2.5 points total if compared two means (instead of taking .47 as hypothesized value) and did
it right.
