Example Application Problem
We're going to solve an engineering problem using a C++ program. I'll go through the part that precedes the
programming very quickly here (leaving the equations here for you with room to fill in diagrams), then we'll
write the code for the solution.
Here is the problem:
To solve this problem, we must consider all of the forces: the springs and the weight of the lamp. Both
springs are the same.
Before we look at the forces, let's concentrate on the spring. Let
