Lab 0: Hello World, Intro. to the Lab Environment Last Modified 12/17/2008 Objectives By completing this lab, you will be able to: Create a workspace for a C++ in the lab Compile a C++ program Make simple edits to a C++ program Print a code listing Access the lab report template you'll use throughout the course Capture output from a running C++ program and paste it into a Word document Understand the basics of ASCII codes Resource: Visual Studio Directions . Part I: Hello World 1. Follow instructor demonstration and directives to create a workspace for the "Hello World" program and type in the code. 2. Compile and run the program. 3. When the program successfully runs, study the code. Figure out how to make the program print a second line to screen that prints your first and last name and PSU ID number, e.g. "My name is ____, my ID number is ____, and my section is ___." 4. Compile and run the program again, fixing any errors. Ask us questions as needed! 5. When your program runs successfully, print the code and pick it up from the printer. Then return to
