Week 5 Study QuestionsFor instructions, please see Week 1 Study Questions. Chapter 10: Muscular Tissue Lectures: 1.What is the organization of the skeletal muscle organ (you should know all the structures with pointers in the following figure)? Starting with the whole muscle, describe the internal organization and the connective tissues that surround the various levels of organization. Where do you find capillary beds (capillaries) and the ends of nerves (axon terminal/synaptic terminals)? How do the connective tissues relate to one another – meaning, what is significant about the fact that they are all connected to one another? 2.In general, what are the quadriceps and the hamstrings and where are they located? 3.Describe the internal anatomy of a skeletal muscle fiber (you should know all the structures with pointers in the following figure). What organelles are present? What is the function of those organelles? What are the myofilaments? What are the proteins of interest in those myofilaments? (Use figures 10.1, 10.2 and 10.3 to label the figures in this set of study questions).

4.What is a sarcomere? What are the I band, Z line, A band, M line, H zone and zone of overlap? What molecules do you find in each of these regions (you should know all the structures with pointers in the following figure)?
