Unformatted text preview: Empower: Introduction: As we talked about in our last workshop, it's important to encourage others to receive the changes you want. By encouraging and motivating people, they will be more likely to work toward your goal. But it's important to remember that this is a common goal. We have to be able to give each other a reason to work toward a goal. In order to give people a voice and a say over what is happening when working toward your goals, you need to empower them. What is it to empower? Empowering is giving somebody the help they need to get off the ground and get a goal accomplished. Empowering leaders let go of the need to control, encourage people to define their realities and future visions, and ask them to participate actively in common endeavors that they have helped to define. Do you feel empowerment vital as a leader? This is the difference between a leader and a boss. Leadership is empowerment. Management is control. In order to lead you must empower others to accomplish goals not force them to do so. You need to be able to let go of that lead you must empower others to accomplish goals not force them to do so....
