We are all here as teams today, right? Well, we will be passing out a large sheet
of paper that you will create your team’s spirit banner on.
In the middle of your banner, write your team name/chapter in the middle and the
you may decorate your banner how ever you please; BUT keep in mind that you are
going to be adding things as time goes on.
Here is our example!
Everyone grab a piece of paper and a pen from your table. Take the next minute to
write everything down that is on your mind. Consider girlfriends, boyfriends, sports,
worries, anything. Go.
Time’s up! Now everyone take that piece of paper in your right hand. Crumple it up in
the smallest ball possible. And on the count of 3, say goodbye to all those worries and
throw them in this trash can. 1, 2, 3!
Now that all our worries are gone, its time to focus on what we’re about to do.
Today we’re going to talk about awareness. This sounds boring, I know. But it is a very
crucial part of your job as a chapter officer and member.
I think that we can all agree that a trash can fills paper by paper. What do I mean by this?
I mean that for your peers, family, and community to be completely aware of FFA, it
takes a little at a time.
Main Point #1:
When I was a freshman in High School, I wanted to go to my friend’s birthday
party. I begged, pleaded, and wanted to go, but my parents didn’t know my friend or
anything about where it was or who was hosting it. Little did I know that the only way for
them to let me go was to find out some more about it. After countless conversations
between myself and my friend and my mom and my friends mom, I was finally able to
go. This just goes to show that with the right information and tools, you can do anything
you set your mind to.
Underneath 6 different chairs in the room, there are pieces of a puzzle that might
help you to do this more efficiently. When the music starts, look under your chairs and
find these pieces. When you find it, meet me here in the front of the room.
