Name: Dongni Wang Course: History of American Foreign Affairs Date: April 28 th The War Tapes is a documentary film about the war in Iraq. It shows what the war is through three American soldiers’ video recorder. From the perspective of these three soldiers, I see another aspect of the war in Iraq, which is different from the one reported by the media. From the media, I get to know that the war in Iraq is for establishing a new democratic government in Iraq and liberating Iraqis from the dictatorship of Saddam Hussein. However, according to what the camera captured in the war, American soldiers did not do the task they were supposed to do. Instead, their main task in Iraq was to escort the carrier truck for KBR. Those KBR trucks are owned by the company Halliburton, which is managed by the former Vice President Cheney. In order to save military expenditure, the transportation for the army was outsourced to KBR. Ironically, it charged them more expense than that they do the job themselves. Moreover, KBR
