(DS). Prerequisite: PSY 100 with a grade of C or better. STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES Upon successful completion of PSY 240, the students should be able to demonstrate an understanding of the basic concepts and methodology used in the study of human development. The student should be able to demonstrate an understanding of: 1. The basic concepts and methodology used in the study of human development. 2. The processes of development from conception through infancy. 3. Developmental changes in growth and behavior during childhood. 4. Changes in growth and behavior during adolescence. 5. Changes in growth and behavior during early adulthood. 6. The continuity and change in middle age in the areas of biology, intellectual functioning, and personality. 7. The developmental tasks during later adulthood. 8. Various concepts and terms associated with death and dying. COURSE TASKS Grading Information This class operates on a cumulative point system. In order to calculate your grade, you will need to calculate the total number of points you have earned this semester.
