Unformatted text preview: 1 ECED 3201 Introduction to Electronics LAB #2 Simulating and Characterizing Electronic Circuits Using Pspice OBJECTIVES This lab is designed to familiarize the students with Pspice Orcad tools and to teaching them how to characterize electronic circuits by simulation. 1) Measuring the Voltage-Current characteristic of Zener diode Construct the circuit shown in Fig. 1. Q1. Using DC Sweep simulation, plot the I-V curve of the diode D 1 . Q2. Extract from the plot obtained in Q1 approximate values for I ZK , V ZK , V ZO , and r Z. Fig. 2 2) Extracting the diode voltage dependence with Temperature Construct the circuit shown in Fig. 2. Q3. We studied in the course that at a given constant current the voltage drop across the diode decreases by approximately 2mV for every 1 o C increase in T.
