Refer to your textbook to write the answers. A. Main Idea: Nationalism, alliances, imperialism, and militarism, contributed to the start of World War I. 1. What nations formed the Triple Alliance and the Triple Entente? The triple alliance was formed by Italy, Germany and Austria-Hungary, and the Triple Entente was formed by Great Britain, France and Russia. 2. What did the Irish, the Poles, and Slavic minorities in the Balkans and Austria- Hungary have in common? These minorities are similar because they didn’t have their own states. 3. How did industrialization contribute to militarism in Europe? Industrialization contributed to militarism because they started to use new materials like iron and steel, had better ships, and even had chemical weapons which would help destroy whoever their up against in a tactical or gruesome way.
