[3] DEPLOY A CRITICAL THEORY INTRODUCTION In This Our Life is one of the boldest and sturdy melodramas that emerged out from a major studio of Hollywood in 40s which was directed by John Hudson . In this report, critical analysis of the relationship between Stanley and her Uncle William will be made in order to resolve the difficult aspect of their relationship. THEORY Relationship between Stanley and her William Fitzroy In the movie it was identified in various plots suspiciously close and highly disturbing relationship between William Fitzroy (Uncle) and Stanley. For instance, in the beginning of the scene in hopes for money, Stanley weirdly flirts with her Uncle (BASSAN, 1988).
