SUMMARY RESPONSE ESSAY- THE WAY HOME (2002) Jibeuro or “The Way Home” released worldwide in 2002 and was scripted and directed by Lee Jeong-hyang. The movie narrates the endearing tale of a grandson who lives in urban area and comes to live with her grandmother in a rustic town (Scott, 2002). At first, Sang- woo (grandson) annoyed living with her grandmother but soon after he realised the value of unconditional love, his way of life transformed tremendously. Authentic love possesses the capacity to adore somebody meticulously, irrespective of nature, characterises and behaviour of person. This kind of gesture allows person to think more about well-being of others than their own. In the movie ‘The Way Home’, 7-year-old child named Sang-woo was deposited at her grandmother’s house by his mother due to failure in her business venture. She left him for some time until she finds a new stable job. Sang-woo nature and behaviour was not good towards her grandmother because of her handicap. His grandmother cannot speak but was not deaf. His grandmother resides in rustic village of Youngdong in Korea’s Choongbuk domain.
