INSTRUCTOR NOTES: Welcome to Week Five! This  week,   we   are   discussing  chapters 9 and 10.  A couple  of things to note: Chapter 9 introduces types of  receivables   and   discusses  valuation.     Receivables  should   be   analyzed   to  determine their collectability.  Any amounts not expected to  be   collected   should   be  written   off   using   either   the  direct   write   off   or   the  allowance method. Chapter   10   covers   fixed  assets   and   related  depreciation.  Three methods  of depreciation are explained:  straight-line, units-of-activity, and declining
