Why “Multiculturalism” Why is this a key focus of the class? What are the trends that may affect leaders? Does it really matter in American workplaces? Do you think most managers value diversity? “We are, of course, a national of differences.  Those differences do not make us weak. They’re  the source of our strength” Jimmy Carter

Will You Need to Care About  Diversity? You are likely to experience diversity in  two entirely different settings: (1) Within our Borders: The U.S. has one of the most diverse workforces in the  world and is likely to become more diverse as we  create more jobs than we can fill without immigration. (1) Across Borders: More and more firms are going “global” which also  increases the chances that you will be asked to lead a  multicultural team across borders.
