Tips for Getting a Good Grade on Your Speech #8 1. Make sure your use and cite outside sources in both your outline and during your verbal presentation. Make sure you have at least 4 verbal citations during your presentation. 2. Make sure you turn in your evaluation form. 3. Do not read directly from your notes, outlines, script, computer monitor or projection screen. 4. Make sure you email your PowerPoint presentation to your instructor via Blackboard. 5. Make sure you have a final outline in APA form. 6. Rehearse your speech with your PowerPoint slides. If you rehearse, even one time, you will notice if your speech is well under or over the required time frame. 7. Pay attention to your time. It is possible to deliver a great speech and still get a bad grade if you go significantly over or under time. What your time!!! This can be avoided by simply rehearsing your speech. 8. 10% of your total time should be spent on the introduction along with an additional 10% for the conclusion. DO NOT take your intro and conclusion
