Rubric Questions for Speech 5, developed by Jason Warren Here are the questions your instructors will be asking themselves as they grade your presentations: Delivery: Did the speaker scan the room before they began the speech? Did the speaker maintain eye contact throughout the speech? Did the speaker make eye contact with everyone in the audience? Did the speaker scan the room when the speech concluded? Did the speaker incorporate gestures to accentuate their main ideas? Were the gestures incorporated used effectively? Did the speaker move in between the main points of their speech? Did the voice command the room? Did the voice project confidence and composure? Is the volume, rate, pitch, and tone varied for emphasis throughout the speech? Did the speaker appear enthusiastic/engaged in their topic? Content: Did the speaker develop an attention getter? Did the speaker clearly state the thesis/central idea of the speech? Did the speaker preview their main points?
