Speech Critique #1 Requirements: Length: 2 Complete pages in length, excluding reference page. Must have: (1) an introduction (with a thesis statement—your central idea which includes your judgment about the effectiveness of the speaker). (2) a body (with 3 or 4 main ideas and supporting material). (3) a conclusion (with a brief discussion). Must be: Typed, double spaced, with 12 point Times Roman font, and 1” margins Maintain solid organization, correct grammar and no spelling errors. Speech: Go to MySpeechLab and on the left hand menu, click on “Additional Speeches.” You will choose a speech from the provided speeches are critique it. Questions to Ask: What is the speech objective? To persuade, to inform, or to entertain? What is the purpose? What is the central idea? How does the audience react? Did the opening grab the audience’s attention? Did the speech’s opening clearly establish the intent of the speech?
