HIST 100: Western Civilization Sections 001 and 002 Museum/Gallery/Performance Report Writing Guide As part of your coursework this semester you will need to attend one museum, gallery, or live performance in the greater Washington, DC, area connected in some way to the topic of western civilization. It is suggested that you choose an event from the list below, although you are welcome to propose another site to visit. However, any proposed alternative must be cleared with me ahead of time . Please note that admission is free to all of the exhibits listed here. You will be required to submit a ticket stub, program, or some other proof of attendance along with your written report. This report is due on the last day of class, Friday, Dec. 5. 1. Folger Shakespeare Library Visit the following: “Breaking News: Renaissance Journalism and the Birth of the Newspaper” 2. National Gallery of Art (on National Mall, Wash. DC) Choose one of the following exhibits: “From Medieval to Modern”
