Carnegie was born in 1888 in Maryville, Missouri. Carnegie was an American writer who developed courses in interpersonal skills, salesmanship, public speaking, and especially self-improvement. One of his most famous books was titled How to Win Friends and Influence People , which was written in 1936. It sold 15 million copies and is still famous today. He believed it was possible to change someone’s behavior by changing their reaction towards you. This was known as responsibility assumption. Carnegie was raised on farmland and woke up at 4a.m. throughout many of his adolescent years to milk his parents’ cows.
