Pink Floyd The 1970’s is arguably the most influential decade for music across the world. The turn of the decade brought with it many new bands with original sounds. Numerous record were recorded and released throughout the 1970’s that most people would consider when thinking about all-time great albums. However, due to its ground breaking sound and far-reaching influences the Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd is the best album of the 1970’s. The progressive rock band Pink Floyd is known for its psychedelic and calming sound. This sound comes to a climax in the album The Dark Side of the Moon. This monster of an album was released in March 24, 1973. Dealing with themes of mortality, war, greed and insanity this album acts as a critique of society. These feelings are evoked in a fusion of blues, rock, ballads, classical, electronica and ethereal sound effects. The philosophical lyrics that make up the 10 songs on this album help to create euphoria while not-so-subtlety commenting on the
