1 TMA 1 Tutor-marked Assignment 1 Instructions: 1. TMA 1 covers Unit 1 on “Communication for Career Success”. 2. TMA 1 requires you to answer 1 question on Cross-cultural Communication. 3. TMA 1 carries 15% of your final total marks. 4. The deadline for the submission of TMA 1 is given in WawasanLearn . Question You work with a company that will soon be initiating business dealings with a company in China. A team will be going to Xian, China on a business trip in March 2010. The Marketing Director has asked you to brief the team on what they need to look out for in the area of cross-cultural communication. Prepare a handout for the participants that will consist of the notes on the above topic. Your handout should be at least about 400 words long and consist of four points on each of the areas given below and elaborations for each point made: • dressing • behaviour • communication You must also include an introduction on why considering cross-cultural factors is important during business dealings and a conclusion. Add 2 – 3 pictures or graphics that will make your handout look more interesting. Please ensure that your picture is saved as a jpeg file.
