BUAD 304 – 14723 TA: Tolan Chapter 10: IBM’s Multicultural Multinational Teams 1.) I think that this is definitely a wise investment of IBM’s human resources because teams are a great way to get things done. It is very important to have communication not only between your own department but other departments as well. When teams are organized in a heterogeneous fashion, it is amazing how much an individual can learn from everyone else differences. Teams play a huge role in large organizations. Sometimes it is very beneficial to break up large numbers of individuals to achieve the same goal but each team comes up with a different approach on how to reach the goal. With a collaborative effort, the ideas that a team can come up with are usually much more valuable than those from an individual. 2.) I think that IBM’s culture changed because the business world as a whole is changing everyday. If companies do not adapt to what’s happening in the world around them, they will be left in the dust and will not be successful. The companies that are successful are
