All businesses perform background checks of some kind on potential employees to see if their history actually matches what has been said and presented on paper to determine whether it is a good and safe choice to hire the individual. Usually these background checks include looking for past credit history or criminal records. However, in the 21st century, due to the technological boom, it has become very easy to find a lot about potential employees through the Internet, particularly blogs and networking sites. This is a quick and efficient way to find out about the employee, as someone who leaves incriminating evidence about him or herself online, is likely to prove to be a burden to the business when hired. However, this practice can also be viewed as an invasion of employee's privacy. Furthermore, while it is right to punish current employees who spread bad word about their employers on the web, it is immoral to keep their online activities under constant watch,
