Jonathan Sullivan D03228693 01/31/10 Week: 4 Assignment Terminating and Testing Cables 4-Paragraph Summary W hile watching the videos and going through the tutorials I learned how just important it is to properly terminate your cables. Think of "The Weakest Link" game show. Even one improperly terminated cable could either bring a network down to a screeching halt or slow it down to the pace of a snail. Either way it is bad news for you. So, this is why you must be as precise as possible when terminating your cables. I also was able to learn a great deal of information about cable testers by going through some of the tutorials for Fluke Networks. I came to find out just how important it is to properly test your cables and rate them too. T he tools made by Fluke Networks can test network cabling, node to node connectivity, and network to network connectivity. Cable testing helps you to find faults and identify potential problems such as interference on the cable; from sources such as crosstalk or EMI. Another use
