Flynn 1 248019 Period A1 Chapter 2 Essay AP Psychology Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, or OCD, is a disorder that produces anxiety. It is characterized by neurotic thoughts that are repeated. Repetitive behaviors such as hand washing or counting may be performed in order to rid the mind of the repetitive thought. Performing these habits however, provides only temporary relief, but not performing these habits will cause anxiety. In my experiment, I will be using the drug OmniComp in order to see if it can decrease repetitive behaviors in people, if not completely rid the person of their compulsive thoughts. A double-blind experiment will take place in order to completely demonstrate the effects of the drug, OmniComp, without any bias. I will randomly choose fifty volunteers, all of whom suffer from OCD. The control group will be given a placebo, while the experimental group will be given the real OmniComp. each person will be given a random number in order to reduce experimenter or subject
