1 4/09/2010 CSE 566 – Wireless Network Security Due: 4/23/10, by 5 pm Homework 3 (Not all Questions need to be answered) Hand in the homework to Ameya Sanzgiri at his office at UB Commons between 4:00 – 5:00 pm. Solution will be placed on pollux.cse.buffalo.edu the following day. Question 1 (required) What are the various modes of operation in AES? Explain briefly (no more than 1 page) what is CCM and give the advantages of using it over the other methods of operations such as Offset Codebook Mode. Question 2 (required) a) Consider the ad hoc network given below where the Ad Hoc On-Demand Distance Vector (AODV) routing protocol is used for packet delivery. Node 1 wants to send some data to Node 3. Unfortunately, it is unsure of the route. So, it sends out a RREQ as shown in the figure. The RREQ message keeps getting rebroadcast until the lifespan is reduced to 0. The starting RREQ message that is broadcast by Node 1 has been illustrated in the figure. Show the transmission of the RREQ and RREP messages at nodes 2, 3, and 4, as applicable,
