Power system load management, relay protection, supervisory control, power quality and system reliability are introduced. COURSE OBJECTIVES A. Calculate electric loads of a power system. B. Solve line faults using symmetrical components. C. Understand the equal area criterion as used to solve simple stability problems. . D. Understand the basic concepts of electromechanical and solid state relays. E. Apply relays to several applications in electric power system. F. Utilize the concept of supervisory control and telemetry. G. Provide basic criteria and troubleshooting skills for power quality and reliability. H. Design a simple power distribution system for industrial facility.
