BE SURE to indicate the ID number of your device! Use the template that follows this report. The ID of your device is NOT the barcode. It will be a # written in marker or pen between 1 and 10. Activity 2 (20 points) What do the settings, 9600, n, 8, 1, no flow control mean? Describe each setting. 9600 is the baud rate, and it indicated the number of bits per second that are transmitted. n means that we have selected the option no parity. No parity means that a parity bit will not be transmitted and no checking of the parity bit will occur. No parity also usually means that the parity bit can be used for data, speeding up the transmission of the data. 8 data bits would mean that the windowing used in the flow control will be 8 bits large....
