Class 1 2.      Fourteenth-century Art in Europe (14 th  c.) Stokstad, Ch. 14, pp. 423 – 453 (Emerging Renaissance establishes visual language and concepts and  returns to observation of natural world.) Class 2 and 3 3.      Renaissance Art in Fifteenth-century Italy (15 th  c.) Stokstad, Ch. 14, pp. 489 – 527 (Development of principles of mastering the observed world. Be sure to  note the steps that were involved in depicting reality. )
