Consider this: If you have just been diagnosed with cancer and had to choose which  treatment would be best for you, would you want to know the  evidence regarding the risks and benefits of each type of treatment as  generated from prior research with other similar patients? If you are caring for a patient diagnosed with major depression,  wouldn’t you want to provide that patient with the best bio-psycho- social care possible based on the latest research about which  medications and psychotherapy approaches are most effective?  Do you want to provide the best care available to your patients?
