HPEB 335  Study Guides for the ARC exams This are SAMPLES of the types of questions that you may be asked. Study this along with (not instead of) the chapters and skills sheets in your textbook. First Aid test will have 30 questions (multiple choice) - heat stroke; what are the signs/signals?  how do you treat? - heat exhaustion; what are the signs/signals?  how do you treat? - precautions to take for heat stroke/exhaustion with elderly?  with very young? - how do you treat a lacerated arm? - how do you treat a head injury? - how do you treat an eye injury? - what do you do if blood soaks through your initial bandage? - how do you imobilize a person with a suspected head/neck/back injury?  what if  they are in water? what if the water is shallow water? - how do you treat hyperthermia? - why should you never rub area suspected of frostbite? - substance abuse victims should be treated the same as victims of _____  ? - what are the signals of possible head/neck/back injury? - when do you perform in-line stabilization?  when the person is unconscious? - how do you treat an injury to the chest?  abdomen?  pelvis?  what are  symptoms of internal injuries to these areas? - descibe the difference in treatment/care you should give to a person
