(9) What is isostasy? Draw two blocks of crust with different thicknesses “floating” in mantle. Label the upper surface and crust/mantle boundaries. INTERIOR OF THE EARTH AND PLATE TECTONICS (1) What are three lines of evidence that suggest that the continents were together about 220 million years ago? (2) Why did many scientists not believe Alfred Wegener's ideas about continental drift?
