Memory Tips A. Organize the material to be learned. 1. Memorize these numbers in any sequence. a. 1, 10, 7, 12, 22, 28, 20 b. 10 + 12 = 22 c. 1 + 7 + 20 = 28 B. Intend to remember. 1. Make a conscious decision to remember. C. Test yourself repeatedly on the material to be memorized. 1. After you learn each new item, go back and test yourself on all the previous items. D. Use several memory techniques. 1. Use several senses. a. Repeat it out loud. b. Hear it. c. Write it down. 2. Use key words. 3. Use catchwords. 4. Use catchphrases.
