Their structures were elucidated by physical measurements and the structure determination on these compounds was performed in solid state by FT-IR spectroscopy based on vibrational analysis. Their molecular structures were further 1 13 1 13 ascertained through the H, C NMR spectra along with two-dimensional COSY, NOESY, H - C HMQC and HMBC spectra. The effect of different substituents on thermal and mesomorphic behavior has been investigated by differential scanning calorimetry and polarizing optical microscopy.
