While indole is one of the most abundant alkaloid present naturally in most plants and it also serves as good therapeutic agents in either physiological or pharmacological field. In this study, we synthesized indole hydrazone derivatives and their complexes and evaluated their cytotoxicity effect. Before any test could be carried out, the compounds were characterized carefully since molecular structures are important in determining the efficacies of each compound on the particular bioactivity. Cytotoxicity tests were carried out on several cancer cell lines such as HCT 116, MDA -MB435, KB and MCF-7. Some compound especially compounds containing chlorine and bromine were found to be effective as anti-cancer agents at a concentration less than 20 μg/mL. Acute toxicity test had been carried out in vivo and it showed no sign of mortality within 24 hours.
