This azacalixarene was then immobilized onto rice husk ash (RHA) silica via 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTES) to form a heterogeneous catalyst 2. The crown compound 1 was 1 13 characterized using FTIR, H and C NMR, SEM/EDX, TGA and TEM. In the FTIR spectra of compound 1, -1 -1 the band at 3397 and 3308 cm were assigned to the N–H. The band at 1640 cm was assigned to the -1 1 C=N vibration and the band at 3126 cm was assigned to the aromatic C=C bond. The H NMR spectrum showed the NH triplet chemical shifts centered at 1.3 ppm and the aromatic hydrogen was seen at 7.5 ppm. The catalytic activity of the immobilized complex 2 will be discussed. NH
