Age of Consent Charts Individual Interviewee: A. Frank Canino B. School One C. Uncle Chris D. Janet E. Federal Hill F. Federal Hill G. Mother H. Ethnic I. RIC J. RIC UC IS it morally good to have those laws, or harmful? UC- they are more beneficial than harmful, although i believe that if 2 young people have sex b4 the age of consent- also there is a difference when the ages are close. also the ages of 18 and 20 and such are arbitrary- people usually mature cognitively at about age 15. but there are weird cultures out there like that mormon sect who marries 12 year old girls to 50 year old men. the laws are sometimes silly, but the idea behind them is good, so why not reform. culture can come into it- in our culture 12 is too young- but i guess in some cultures it is okay- you can still probably set some kind of a limit- maybe between 12 and 15- you can go across cultural lines for some of the part. Questions: 1. Do you believe it is harmful for children to have sex? 2. Is there a certain age at which it becomes safe? Which age? In other words, what defines one as a child? 3. Do you believe being raised in a different culture would cause a difference in the age of maturity, or is it the same worldwide? 4. Is it a scientific/biological fact which determines mental readiness for sex or does it depend on how the individual was raised/the culture they grew up in? 5. Do you believe it is morally wrong for children to have sex (rather than just psychologically or biologically damaging)? 6. Do you believe sex is something which people need to be shielded from until ready because it can be traumatic? 7. Do you believe, in a case or interage sex, that the individual circumstances in the situation should be looked at (such as who was coerced by whom, or whether or not the age difference is too large for that particular couple, etc.)? 8. Are children inherently incapable of making decisions for themselves in general, whether about sex or not? 9. Do you believe that it is the government's job to enforce the laws about sex, or is it up to the individual or the parents? 10. Why, if so, is it wrong for children to have sex? 11. 12. 13. 14. 15. 16. 17. 18.

Sovereign PRO *It keeps children safe until they are ready- all you have to do is wait to turn the age of majority if you are dating someone overage. *It prevents pedophiles from being able to take advantage of someone who may be considered too young to know the implications- since givng consent is kind of a subjective subject.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
