SIOP Ch.7 (features 20-22)  LLED 5630    Wednesday 14:16 Feature 20    Use hands on materials/manipulatives for students to practice  using new content knowledge. Time-line that students can stand on top of to really see where they are  related to another student located at a different point on the time line. What’s the difference between manipulatives and realia? Manipulatives are  used for specific objectives and realia are brought in at any time under any  circumstance to help student relate language to real thing. Feature 21  activities provided for students to apply content and language  knowledge. ( I.e. Math ) Know vocabulary words associated with the addition Word problems Feature 22    Activities integrate ALL language skills 4 language skills- listening, speaking, reading, and writing.   somehow  incorporate into all lessons.
