1) In our group discussion (Group D), Caleb Ho discussed how language development depends on the parents. For example, an enthusiastic parent has children who, on average, acquire language faster. However, parents who are not as involved in their child’s development and uses lower tones of voice tend to have children who acquire language slower. Obviously, the environment influences linguistic development. This includes parents, friends, relatives and any media the child is exposed to. The article said that, after studies were conducted and reviewed, it was discovered that Sesame Street really did positively influence children’s linguistic development, pre-grade school. 2) This is an awesome question. I think that shows like Sesame Street, Dora the Explorer, and other educational and engaging shows are great for kids. However, I feel like there are too many of these types of shows. The
