Tanisha Saini English 106.36 Princeton Article Questions 1. Which of these ideas do you already use? I already pre-read questions before reading the text to get an idea of what to look for. I try to identify unfamiliar terms as much as possible. I point out the thesis or what is going to be explained further in detail. I make marginal notes. After reading each paragraph I attempt to come back and summarize what it was that I had read. I have used the technique of teaching others what I have learned. 2. Which of these is new to you? Mapping and drawing diagrams is fairly new but not completely. I do not utilize this method frequently. 3. Are any of these ideas useful? Are any not useful? Explain. Pre-reading questions, making marginal notes, and summarizing are most important to me. So that when one first begins reading it is already understood what is being asked, notes are important if one ever forgets what was previously read, and summarizing simply measures how much was comprehended and to what level. However, I do not feel that putting the highlighter down is useful. Adding notes to what is being
