Answer: 2 million Kwh/month = 2 Energy = power * time 2) Question 2 : How many tons of coal does the plant use per hour? Answer: According to www.xcelenergy.com , the plant uses about 1250 tons of coal per hour. 3) Question 3 : How many tons of coal does the plant use per day? Answer: 1250 tons/hour * 24 hours/day = 30000 tons/day The plant uses 30000 tons of coal per day. 4) Question 4 : How many railroad cars of coal are used per day? Answer: Fact: 1 railroad car can hold 110 tons of coal. 30000 tonsday * 1 car110 tons = 273 cars/day Therefore, 273 railroad cars of coal are used per day. 5) Question 5 : How many railroad cars of ash are produced per day?
