Is there such a thing as social amnesia? If so, what is it? Social amnesia is a group of people all forgot something. With the time went by, people more or less would forget something. It’s just the first reason for social amnesia. Some big event, like protest, revolution and so on is also under control in some countries. The purpose is to let people forget it as soon as possible. So some countries’ government control information is also the second reason that causes social amnesia. Furthermore, one important thing happened while the other more important thing happened. The less important thing is easier to forget. The media would take more time in one thing than the other. For the above three reasons, I do believe that there is such a thing as social amnesia. For instance, have you heard a passenger ship Eastland was docked on Chicago River preparing to depart for a Lake Michigan cruise?
