2 1. Summary This test is aim to teach students how to do hardness test of metals. The students will have to learn to use the Horizon software which is programed on the Rockwell Hardness Tester. Run the Horizon software which is touch screen. The handles on the tester will be used to allow lowering or elevating the small platform which is called “Anvil”. The Anvils can be removed and be replaced with a different one based on the material shape being tested. One of the Anvils is used to hold round specimens and the other is used to hold flat specimens. For this experiment, the students will be using the anvil with flat surface. The students will be testing five different specimens. Two of the specimens are brass which
