Copying from a classmate or any other source may seem like a good idea at the time, especially if you did not study or if you run out of time to do an assignment. Before you consider any form of academic dishonesty, consider the following: It could result in your being suspended from class or expelled from the college. Problem Solving Requirements You must include (as appropriate): Organization: o Diagram : Sketch a well-labeled diagram of the situation. o Symbols : Assign each quantity its own symbol, and write down its numerical value if applicable. o Explanation : Explain any assumptions, reasons, etc. in words as you go. Solution : Solve the problem in symbols , without numbers as much as possible. THEN (& ONLY THEN) Numbers : Substitute in numbers at the end , if necessary. On homework, and on exams, you must communicate clearly to me on your paper the details of how you got your answer, with the problem set up as described above.
