Real Estate Regression Paper Statistical trends are a major part in the real estate market. The real estate market thrives on location, size of the house, and the market value. All of these follow statistic trends over time. The regression test will allow the team to predict the variance of linear variables. “The regression test uses the response variable (Y), which is assumed to be related to the (k) predictors by using a population regression model” (Doane & Seward, 2007). There are two types of regression tests, one is the bivariate regression, which is a simple test, and the other is the multivariate regression, which is a more expansive test. The team will use a multiple regression test to show the real estate prices and possible predictions of the prices. The data set for the paper is from Statistical Techniques in Business and Economics, which will show the housing prices, how many rooms each house has, size of the home, and the location. The purpose of this paper will identify the real estate trends through the regression test, by developing both a numerical and verbal hypothesis statement, performing a regression hypothesis test, and interpret the results. Hypothesis Statement “The words hypothesis, law, and theory refer to different kinds of statements, or sets of statements, that scientists make about natural phenomena. A hypothesis is a proposition that attempts to explain a set of facts in a unified way. (Dictionary.com)”   A proper hypothesis is important to obtain prior to any research or data collection should begin. It is impossible to complete the hypothesis testing without first identifying a hypothesis. Team B will create a null hypothesis in which they will attempt to reject with an alternative hypothesis. The null hypothesis that Team B will test is whether or not the market value of a house increases
