2.07 Social Change Kate Preston 1/03/20 1. Poverty Why was there a need for reform for this social problem? During this time, poverty was a huge issue that affected many families which lead to a need of food, and even health issues such as disease. There was a need for this issue to be fixed. How was the problem addressed during the Industrial Age? Reformers decided to make programs that would help the poor, taking a stand and addressing the issue of poverty which was unheard of at the time. People were aware that poverty was an issue, but never took a stand Was the Social Problem addressed successfully? Be sure to support your opinion with evidence from the lesson or your research. There were a few important people who took a stand against poverty and made great changes which influenced the future. Organizations were made which addressed poverty, a few famous examples include the Jane Adams Hull House, along with the Social Gospel Movement.
