5/10/01 When we first arrived at the Coast Guard Academy we were met by 1/C Cadet Covert (OPS) and shown to the drill down. The drill down consisted of several 4/C cadets, two from each of the eight companies, standing at attention. They were graded based on knowledge of the questions asked, accuracy of drill movements, and the ability to know when to grab the rifle back from the person grading them. It was great to also see upperclassmen there, cheering on their company’s 4/C. I was good to see that upperclass still had some competition between companies as well. The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
