7. Describe the Presidency of Jimmy Carter. How do you evaluate his leadership and policies? be as specific as possible in regards to his policies at home and abroad. Carter pledged to restore simplicity, decency, and efficiency to the American political process… stand up for the “little man,” cleanse the American system of tax loopholes and vestiges of racial and economic discrimination 80% of Americans gave Carte negative assessment of his leadership ability Carter won election with 51% of the votes. He excelled at politics of gesture, nominating a record number of women and blacks to administration posts. But, he ailed to make a dentin the underlying economic crisis that was of most concern to clans, women, and white blue-collar workers. He was arrogant and insensitive toward Congress, self-righteous about his own position, he entered into a permanent deadlock with major political institutions of America.
