1).ABSTRACT: At many levels Communication happens in many different ways and for all beings and for even machines. To communicate any audio message with in a distance so that we can hear, we do not require any communication system. But in the case of passing a message to a very long distance or a message we need some means of communication system. Communication system is nothing but a system that can communicate a message from one place to another place depending on its usage. The technology that is being used in communication systems is developing very rapidly. In this we will discuss about the simulator and investigation made on it which makes use of the continuous level source coding for producing a high quality output signal. 2). INTRODUCTION: a) COMMUNICATION: Communication in general is defined as the process of transmitting an idea, message or any kind of information. A communication system contains a communicator doing the task of communicating a message to a communicate. b) DIGITAL COMMUNICATION SYSTEM: The generalized digital communication system is shown in the following block diagram 2

c) SIGNAL: Signal is a varying quantity that can carry message or information. In terms of communication , it is any time-varying quantity. In the field of information theory, a signal is nothing but a codified message. The field of techniques that are used to obtain or reveal the information from signals is called signal processing.
