Due to this devastating and illegal but popular activity, the number of car accidents among people under 21 on and off the highways have been increasing rapidly. Deaths resulting from incidents excluding car accidents, such as alcohol poisoning and addiction, are also surprisingly high, usually in college-towns. Gordie Bailey, for example, died of alcohol poisoning at a fraternity initiation at University of Colorado at Boulder. He was left on the library couch after drinking 10 gallons of alcohol in thirty minutes. He was already unconscious by the time the party was over and by the morning, he was dead. These unexpected and sudden deaths happen all over the country for the same reasons.
